Hey guys and gals! Just letting you know whoever is going to Moab that I'm brewing a very yummy beer today. 10 gallons total. It's called Janet's Brown Ale and it's very popular on the brewing forums right now. Check out Beer Forum • View topic - Janet's Brown Ale? for the recipe and discussions on it. I plan on having 5 gallons in a keg and will probably bottle the rest and bring some of it. I'm so looking forward to this trip!

YAY!!!!

You know what they say... "If you don't have friends... bring beer!"

sounds tasty, leave the bottled beer at home and bring the keg to Moab. I'll have my pint glass handy!!

Bring all the beer you can with you. Moab has a brewery but everything in Utah is 3.2 beer (3.2% Alc). You can get higher percentage at the liquor store there but it's $$$. Not that alcohol is the only factor when considering beer. But for those with more discerning tastes, IPA's, Porters, Brown Ales, Imperial stouts just don't taste the same at 3 or 4%.
I'll be packing in as much of my favorite micro brews as I can fit with my recovery gear and luggage - for post trail enjoyment of course.

Also look forward to trying some Janet's Brown Ale.:beer::beer:

Hmmm that's right about the lower alcohol percentage. I forgot about that. I know though that homebrewing just became legal in the state of Utah just last year! 5 gallons in a keg is coming for sure! So we'll see how long that lasts!

MB, does have what they call "Desert Select Ale" which is 8%, don't ask me why..;)

Food is yummy also..

MrHustle: By any chance are you on HBT? I am, as Skadalajara.
We may have to do a brew day some weekend.

I am not on HBT. I'm on the BN though. I'm totally down for a brew day sometime! Do you do all grain? What equipment do you have?

I just switched to AG.
Typical setup. 10 Gal Rubbermaid MLT. 2 50L keggles. 1 65k BTU burner.
Shopping for a used 10 - 15 cu ft chest freezer so I can brew in summer.
Scored a free upright fridge for a kegerator. Just gotta go get it. Got a free CO2 tank/regulator too. No more bottles!

Awesome! I've only bottled a couple olf times. Been keggiong since. So much easier! I've got a Brutus 10 type setup. So nice brewing with it. I'll post some pics later of my rig and my home bar.
