I did search and found some good info but I'd thought I'd post anyway... FJ62 Brakes start to fade after driving a few miles - pedal starts sinking towards the floor but if you jam on the brakes they hold w/o sinking. I replaced the entire e-brake junk last year including new bell cranks, adjusters, parking brake cable the whole enchilada and haven't had an issue. Visual inspection shows no leaking fluids under the hood or at any of the wheels, load porportion valve is dry. The truck is lifted 2" - years ago and brakes have been good all that time.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Harry

had the same problem in my 60 changed the master and worked like new. They sell new ones at napa forget the price but thats were i got mine.

mine did it too, bled the brakes and it fixed it.

Well the master cylinder did indeed bite the big one. NAPA was able to source in 2 days. Back on the road and smiling.
