I am not set up to remove my wheels in my garage, so I have to take it to the shop to inspect the brakes, etc...
I am wondering if there is any way to tell how much my brake pads are worn without taking the wheels off?

Thanks!

Sure. At least the outer pads are easily visible through the wheel openings with a flashlight. To figure out what you're looking at, see the video in this link. Installing the new pads in the calipers is at the end of the 5 minute tutorial. That will give you an idea of how thick new pads are.

^^ This. It's a quick and easy check. Change pads when the thickness of the pad material equals the thickness of the pads backing plate.
