It seems like everytime I am about to purchase some aftermarket awesomeness, (Rack and a RTT) something else comes up..

So the other day I was pulling into a driveway with a decent transition from the street. Right as I hit the bump and the suspension compressed slightly I heard a prtty decent "clunk" from the suspension.

Since then I have been having a intermittent squeak off and on at lower speeds. It sould like the brakes but the squak gets faster as I accelerate (as the wheel turns) up to around 10 or 15 MPH when it goes away...

For reference I have a 2003 with around 125K, A OME lift (fairly new) and the PO replaced the wheel bearing around 40K ago.

I have yet to jack the truck up and see if there is any play at 12, 3, 6, 9 etc..

For those experts out there does this sound like a wheel bearing issue, or bakes? Im honestly not sure the last time any of the brake components were replaced.

Lastly (sorry for the long post) Tirerack has the OE Brembo rotors on sale for 66.00 and 68.00 bucks. Seems like a good deal. I would love to get slee's Powerstops but not at 2X the price.. At almost 130K I would rather replace than resurface.. Any pad recomendations???

So for my long drawn out question, I was hopeing to get new pads and rotors, and have the Stearlership install them with a bearing repack in hopes to solve the problem. Does this seem logical?? Anything else I may be forgetting. I have searched and read almost all Bearing/brake threads and this seems like it makes the most sence. I will try to update any wheel movement when I find time to jack the truck up. (Wife is 8mo. Prego, the LC has taken the back seat lately...)

Thanks in advance..

I had a similar squeak that I solved by jumping up and down on my slider.
Felt it settle just a bit and the squeak went away. I was sure it was shocks or brakes or some god awful steering problem. My drive way has a very steep angle that exposes the poor departure angle of my 100 on a daily basis.
Its worth a shot.

why do you want to replace the rotors? Replace the pads and as long as there are no strange spots in your rotors then keep them. it's a cake walk.

if you do replace the rotors then replace the bearings at the same time

I am wanting to do my brake pads and rotors also. I have a good squeak going on, and have to order the parts. Before I bought the LC I knew it was recommended to have the brakes done soon, so I am willing to do them.

Also, I am trying to find info on pads and rotors. I just would like to do rotors while I do pads, and know I did everything at one time. Not really interested in resurfacing these, no reason really, just mental.

Thanks for the help guys. Bill I will try that, worth a shot huh?

After digging out my service record folder the previous owner had new (brand new) brakes, and front wheel bearings done at 110k. I'm only at 128k now so now this really has me scratching my head. Maybe I just need new pads?

I'm going to jack up the truck and see if I have any wheel play this afternoon. I will report back

just throw new pads in and be done. The front pads might take you all of 15 minutes a side to do and that time includes taking off the tire...
