Hi, first post here. Just picked up a nice ‘84 60. It’s going to need a lot of work, but I’d like to start with the brakes. While I’m at stop lights, sometimes the brakes pulse. Should this be a bleed, or are we thinking new Brake Master Cylinder?

It’s a bit all over the place, I’ve only had it for a short while, so I don’t really understand the feel of it yet. The brakes are super hard sometimes, then soft. The pulse at stop throws me though. Think I just need to bleed them? The idle jumps every now and again, I relay that to a good carb cleaning, but the only carbs I’m used to working on are dirt bikes. Not sure if it’s the same theory as a car. Never had a car with a carb. The only thing that can cause a pulse at a dead stop is the brake booster. How do they feel? What happens if you pump the brakes at a stop? How's it run? Poor idle?
Get it up to operating temperature. While stopped, pump the brakes. What does the engine do? It sounds like a combo of poor engine tune, check valve in the booster has failed/bad booster. It’s a bit all over the place, I’ve only had it for a short while, so I don’t really understand the feel of it yet.
