Ok had a brake line spring a leak but the thing is the line just dead ends near the rear axle. There are two brake lines that go back to the rear axle one line goes to a tee and then to each of the rear brakes the other line just ends in a clamp. So can I just delete this line or does it serve a purpose. It's an 87 bj74, stopped great up till today. Additionally what would you use to plug the line I tried just pinching the line and that got me home but is already leaking again

Where does the front end of this line connect? I'd disconnect it there and see if there is a solid plug or cap that can be threaded into its place.
Or you can make something.

Think that is what I have to do. I will try to find a good plug in the hydraulics shop at work but will probably end up just making one like the video. Any thoughts on what that brake line is for?

sounds like your rear proportioning valve has been removed or bypassed

from the master cylinder there is a feed line to the proportioning valve mounted on the RH frame rail above the rear axle housing and a return line taking any bias pressure from the rear brake circuit back to a T Junction on the front RH frame rail to feed back into the front brake circuit. The proportioning valve has an arm connected to the rear axle housing and adjusts the bias depending on the amount of weight or load on the rear axle (ie how much suspension compression)

Yes proportioning valve line , all you need to do is go to your local hardware store and get a matching metric size bolt and use as a plug that's what I did to my truck and your'e done.
