ok sooooo
all the orange lights on dash come on abs vsc etc. shifter won't work and no brake lights.
got killer info off the faq post here and got a new switch installed and new fuse.
a the same time i replaced the left turn signal bulb. it was burnt out.
boom all better:)
three days later the orange lights are back on shifter locked and that left signal bulb is out again.
any advise would make my day.
thanks

First step is always to check whatever got changed. For me that would be to check the brake switch connection - maybe it didn't seat properly. While there, might as well jump across it and see if it works - then you know it's either not making a good connection or maybe just died early in it's life.

You don't have a trailer with lights hooked up do you? I had the same issue and replaced my brake light switch which is right behind the pedal. Fixed my problem but I'm pretty sure my trailer light wires have a short somewhere that caused it to begin with. If you replace your switch, cut a 14mm box end wrench down to about 2.5". You can thank me later.

you got it!
trailer light box thing was all fu(ked up and melted!
all fixed now!

So that's how you get the switch out? I've been needing to adjust my brake light after a new booster pump and brake master cylinder adjustment. My lights won't illuminate until the pedal is pressed firmly. Noticed the issue when i would gradually slow down and people would be very close to rear ending me. I've tried adjusting with a 14mm wrench but there's just no room in there...guess it's time to find a sacrificial 14mm crescent wrench. Thanks!
