Brake light on

There is a problem need to be fixed on my 1998 TLC. The Brake Light on dashboard always on.

This is what I have done following the FSM:

1. Check fluid in the master.
Good, fluid is full.

2. Inspect Brake Fluid Level warning switch.
No continuity exists between the teminals with switch off (float up). So the switch is good.

3. Inspect Parking Brake switch.
No continuity exists between the teminals and switch body with the switch off (switch pin pushed in). So the switch is good.

So I unpluged the Brake Fluid Level warning switch and Parking Brake switch together and test again. But the light still on.

I don't know what I can do next. Do you have any idea?

BTW, the brake is working fine as well as the ABS.

Have you actuated the switches by hand to verify that they are changing state properly (going from closed to open)? Perhaps the FSM has an error in what you should be seeing...

Other than that, would have to trace back the pins for the brake light itself to see where its getting its signal from.

Have you checked the pad depth? There are usually sensors that cause the brake light to come on when the pads get too low. If the pads have been replaced, but the previous owner waited too long to do so, the the sensors could have been destroyed.

Also, have you bled the brakes recently?

I checked the switchs with meter and they are in working order.

BTW. It looks like my ABS is not engaged because of the brake light. Looking at the FSM, there is a link from ABS to brake light.

There are NO wear sensors on 100s...

any update? I've got the same issue with my 99'. Pads are new, fluid is fine, ebrake seems ok, but light comes on from time to time for what seems to be no apparent reason. I'm watching this anxiously hoping for some answers.
