I need help to figure out this brake circuit issue.

The problem- brake light on dash is always on except when I step on the pedal.

Back story- Prior to recent work everything worked as it should (as far as I know).
When I took my truck in for some much needed work, they found the brake lights didn’t work. I said I would look into it myself.
The shop replaced front brake components and bled the lines. The brake feel great and firm pedal.
Some suggestions here said to check the hazard switch since the brake circuit runs through it. I pulled the hazard switch, cleaned and reinstalled.
Still no brake lights.
Next was the brake pedal switch. This is where the PO shenanigans was found. The old brake switch was hard wired into the main fuse board at the #2 slot (brakes). I bought a replacement switch that plugged into the original harness. All seamed good to go.
But now I have the issue where the “brake” light on the dash is always on except when I apply the brakes.
All other lights work as they should. Stop, turn and hazards.

I’ve tried to figure out why by studying the electrical diagram but I’ve run out of ideas.

Any help would be much appreciated!

2 thoughts. That dash brake is activated by a switch on the emergency brake - light is on when the brake is on - could be out of adjustment or the switch went bad. There are pressure sensors on the bottom of master cylinder - I think when there is different pressure between the front and rear brake system when the pedal in pressed the dash light will come on - bleed the system or maybe one or both of the sensors are bad. Could also be bad wiring shorting to ground for the emergency brake switch or the pressure sensors.

Thanks. Any idea how to test the brake pressure switches?

Thanks Charlie. Yeah I just went to YouTube and found some videos. I’ll test the pressure switches when I have a helper to step on the pedal.
