I have searched for hours on here, Google, and some other forums, and cannot find what I think is probably a dumb question. I have the knowledge on how to measure the rod length in respect to the master cylinder, moving over the brake pedal bracket, and pretty much everything else. But what do I grab ahold of on the piston shaft to actually move it where it needs to go? The FSM just tell me to adjust it, but give no idea of HOW to actually do that. Anyone have a pic, video, something that could help me out? OEM booster in the truck (as far as I know), and OEM replacement.

I installed my new booster but forgot to check the booster rod. Sure enough first press of the pedal after bleeding and brakes felt spongy. I purchased the aftermarket white brake booster tool mentioned in the link above off ebay. I had to remove the MC again and measure the MC hole and the booster rod stick out. They were right in spec with no need to adjust. Reinstalled my MC and later found out my spongy brakes were from air in the lines that I hadn't fully removed.
