got a 65 2 wheel drive 80. Had the master cylinder all brake lines and wheel cylinders replaced now when I stop like at a stop sign the brakes lock up. I back up for a foot or so and they release. Re bled the brakes pulled all the drums lubricated the parts still happens. My mechanic bailed on me. Anybody got any idea whats going on?

Well, not an 80 if it's a 65, but check your caliper bolts to make sure they are still in there and its not a caliper dropping and binding on a wheel.

Which one of these are causing the issue?

No calipers. All drums. Thanks for the input.
OK. You have a 40 series 1965?

All drums with brakes that lock at a stop light, then have to back up to release?

Odds are, you have retainer springs that have broken or come off or they were installed backwards.
Also, do you have the primary shoe in the correct location? The one with the least amount of pad should be in the FRONT.

Good point another mechanic suggested that as well. The thing is that before we replaced the master and wheel cylinders and hoses and brake lines it worked fine? The brake shoes look the same to me. I guess I should measure them.

We checked all the hardware and it seems fine. I would replace it all if I could find new stuff.
