Hi all,

I have a good off-roading buddy coming into town this week and we plan on checking out Box Canyon trail (south of 60 off of 79) this Friday, 2/28. He’ll be in a Tacoma and I’ll be in my 4runner. Never done it before and don’t know what to expect but if anyone cares to join us you’re more than welcome. I kind of figure we won’t be to the trail head until about 10 am. If anyone does want to come and has a good meeting location in mind please post up.

would you be starting from the north/ cottonwood / flag pole, or the south / closer to florence?

Was planning on starting from the south closer to Florence but I've never done it before so if there are better options let me know.

I've always started on Price Road just north of Florence. I camped out there a bunch last winter, so I've been up and back the Canyon both way. Some narrow rocky parts, but nothing very difficult. Fun and pretty. Past the Canyon going North there are some more technical sections. There is a waterfall i wasn't considering attempting with a trailer, but there was an alternate route north that eventually ended at the 60 a long time later. usually i camp south of the canyon, and go play in and around the canyon and head back out the way i came in on Price Road. I know there is another alternate exit west past the canyon that spits you out on Cottonwood Road/79. Lotta trails out there

@DPA200 Awesome... that's great feedback, thanks!

Plan is to start on Price Road head north and see how it goes, my initial thought was to take the alt. route up to 60 but we'll see where we're at when we get to the Cottonwood Rd option. And yeah, my understanding is there is supposed to be a bypass around the waterfall.

Sweet pics too!

Let us know how it rides, this is scheduled to be our classic cruise at the end of April

Is this trail two way in spots or strictly run in one direction?

Thought I was gonna be available for this but plans have changed, have fun!

Plan is still to be at the trailhead at 79 and Price Rd. around 10am if anyone is thinking about this. I'll update on the trail here and on the Classic Cruise thread afterwards.
