Bought a 2003 Tacoma TRD

Hi there

After many searches i finally closed on a 2003 Toyota Tacoma TRD manual V6 here in Lebanon.

I had looked at importing one from the US with lower miles but did not work out.

The truck has 254 k miles but mechanically is is good shape. Had it inspected by a Toyota mechanic on a scanner all looks good.

Issue is with the frame. It does has superficial rust and has been painted.
I guess i would need to have the frame treated at a shop. Will cost around $400

Can someone shed light if Tacoma frame can take superficial rust and can this frame handle towing and off roading ( snatch towing) ??

I think your frame will be fine. You are not in a rust belt like the Northern US where Toyota had to recall many trucks. It can handle towing, however due to the torque/HP you won't have much luck towing anything over 3,500Lbs.

This Tacoma was imported from USA from MD ( Maryland).

On the recall did Toyota replace full frames ?
