Time flies and Quentin will be off the college in Sept.

He will be attending Suffolk University in Boston.

There is a new student orientation in June and I need a hotel outside of Boston that is close with easy access to Suffolk and not expensive.

I'll be traveling on I90, so someplace just to the west.

Do I drive in as parking will be a pain or can I take the T?

With all the knowledge on this forum (shameless flattery) I figure someone can help a poor boy from NY visit Boston and participate in Quentin's orientation.

The orientation is at 41 Temple St.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Joe

Check out the Nine Zero hotel. It's insanely expensive during the week but sometimes they do really cheap online offers. Super high-end hotel right downtown but I've stayed there for under $100/night on the weekend

Also check out the Millennium Hotel as well. Same deal - weekdays tend to be expensive and weekends can be pretty cheap.

There is plenty of parking nearby too - just depends on timing of arrival and departure how painful parking vs. the T will be. There are a bunch of T stops near there too. MBTA.com > Official Website for Greater Boston's Public Transportation System has good route planning tools if you are interested in the T.

Good luck!

There is a holiday inn and a hampton on mcGrath h-way in cambridge on the green line, not too pricey. if weather is good you could walk to suffolk.

Check out the Kendall Hotel in Cambridge. Sometimes you can score good deals and it's a quaint little joint.

Agreed, I've gotten rates as low as 135/night there w/ free b'fast. Its right on the subway and half a block from Mead Hall....ummm beeeer....

Thanks for all the suggestions. The orientation is during the week, so weekend rates are out.

The Kendall was $431, Holiday in $300+, Hampton $279.

I found a Best Western in Waltham, just off I90 and 15 miles from downtown
for $130. Guess I'll drive in and pay big $$ to park.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

have you thought about taking the train in? we would always park at south station (right off I90) and take the greenline into the city.. wayyy cheaper and faster depending on traffic
