My 94 80 is binding and scrapping (breaks) They locked up at a stoplight and screeched and scraped all the way home last night . No time to pull the rig apart these days . Any recommend's on a good mech in town? A&M ???
Thanks

For brakes? Go anywhere. Not much magic to them. I'd buy the parts from Wellesley Toyota and see if you can supply them to a shop.

Yes, A&M is a good option.

As is Vinny's Autosport on McGrath near Leachmere too, they have done a lot of work for me over the years on 3 Toyota trucks I've owned. The owner is an ex Toyota rally team racer so he appreciates how stuff breaks of road. But they are a service shop, not a project shop.

Landtank??

Landtank??
He's out of the landcruiser game. Him, Barton and Martha Stewart are making Kitchen accessories since his egg rings were a huge success. I heard he's working on a "Landtank Quiche Cutter" made from titanium.

Why have I heard bad things about A&M?

ETA: I just did a quick search and it may have been only one guy who had a problem with him.

Now that is some funny pooh right there.

Yeah but all you need to do is hand him a bottle of fireball whiskey and he will be back in the game but only after he sneezes 50 times in a row. LOL

Laugh all you want. We have some nice products in testing. For instance the chromoly spatula. Both Jim and Martie saw the potential of this in the adult S&M market. After rigorous and exhaustive testing the only negative was that Martie's arm was getting tired. Jim's a real trooper!

I'll throw mine and Mrs. D's name in the mix for product testing, but, in advance of actually laying hands on, would think the spanktula begs for a little plasti-dip, as it proves difficult to maintain a firm grip on chromoly with sweaty hands.

HTH!!

In the past some of us have had issues with work done by A&M. I had them work on my FJ40 many moons ago. They fixed some of what I wanted (fine) and did some stuff I did not ask them to do (not cool) and didn't do some of the things I asked (again not cool). Would I take my stuff back there again? Nope.

Hey Rick, :flipoff2:

DUDE - go to Wellesley Toyota. 25% off parts for YT members and today - got some tires mounted there - and without asking they gave me 10% off the labor when they saw my YT sticker. They are awesome.

A&M is NOT awsome.

I just overhauled my 80's front brakes a few months ago. Wasn't a big chore at all. Let me know if you need help. I could afford to rebuild my e-brake.

I'm in Quincy. Also, I have a mechanic that does work on a few 80's, including mine. PM me if you need a hand.
