Wow, that would be fun.

I talked to Casey and this is a two week trip. So...maybe we need to get some folks from the south to start on the mexico side and we start on the canada side and we meet in the middle. Or we just do half in 2011 and the other half in 2013. Heck, we'll all be as old as Wickett by then... :hillbilly:

You'll never be as old as Wickett....

You'll never be as old as Wickett....

Good point, but I'm going to keep trying!!!

So, I've had several conversations with folks about this lil' idear. More to follow....getting sleepy.

Casey Campbell for Governor of Iowa!!! :D

If it's in 2011 I would be up for that!

Already have 2010 all planned out.:grinpimp:

We might think about doing that. Sounds like it'd be a really fun trip!

Is there a map of the route they took somewhere?

When I posted that I had just skimmed through the links. I was thinking that maybe the route was closer to the continental divide, which would be next to impossible off pavemwnt. Still very interested, I have wanted to do something like this since high school.

I am VERY interested....my GF and I really want to do Baja but kinda don't want to die. This sounds awesome...

Can I be an honorary Tall Corn member? My parents are in the Quad Cities. ;)

You can join Tall Corn Crusiers for $10 and become our Commander of Colorado Operations.

We have commanders in California, Utah and Illinois now.

I could not find the Membership requirements thread. I know you had one since I posted in it a few years ago.

I am one of the few who will be going on ACT2010.

Matt McInnes is shipping me his rig from Australia. Matt will arrive around June 12th at the airport and I will pick him up. Matts father is flying in from Europe and we will pick him up as well. I am sending them to Yosemite National Forest and then Sequoia National Forest for a few days to try out thier camping gear and get their bodies adjusted into the northern Hemisphere time zone. I literally live just outside of Sequoia National Park. A long ways from Fort Madison, LOL.

Matt Mcinnes, Mr McInnes and I are leaving the morning of the 17th. I will be driving my FJ 40.5 and Matt will be in his FJ40 with the Turbo, inter-cooled 2FE.

We are heading straight to Death Valley on our way to Las Vegas. We will spend the night in Death Vally around Bad Water (-300 sea level). We will then head to Las Vegas. After some pics of our built rigs "Cruising the Strip" we are going to stop at Maces house and load his mobile kitchen and his camping gear in my rig.

We will then head through Nevada, Arizona, Utah, on Hwy 15. We will spend a day at Zion National park and spend the night at Bryce Canyon National park. From there, we head north. I think we will stop in Salt Lake City so the McInnes can see the Salt Lake. We may have to pop in and say hi to Doc.

We will head through Idaho and Montana to cross the boarder to Canada. This could take an hour or a full day at the boarder crossing. Once in Canada we will head to Calgary to add another member to our Caravan.

From there we are heading to Edmonton to meet up with RockDoc and his navigator and they will join our caravan. Mace will be flying into Edmonton and will be my Navigator for the trip. From Edmonton we would head towards Dawson Creek, Forth St John and eventually WhiteHorse.

From there we are heading to Gladlys house in White Horse in the Yukon Territory. We we change from our street tires to our off road tires.

When we leave Gladlys place we are driving through Dawson on the "Highway on top of the world" and down into Tok. While in Tok we will get food and supplies, etc and head to the trailhead. We have to be at the trail head the morning of the 28th. ACT 2010 will officially begin.

From there we will be driving at least 120 miles in untamed wilderness with no roads, etc. as Mark W as the trail leader. I think there are 157 river crossings. One requirement is that you rig must be able to cross water 48" deep for 150' and 36" tire are the minimum size.

We come off the the trail on July 5th and will head south to Gladlys house to swap tires and then head south through 100 Mile Hose to see Awl_Tek place.

We will be taking more of a Coastal route on the way home. Lake Tahoe is on the return route as well as the Golden Gate Bridge on the way back to my house.

The trip is 3,600 miles one way from my house.

We will have drive 8,000 miles in three weeks from start to end of the trip.

This is the fastest, Hardcore Site Seeing trip that I know of.

Being an Ioweegian, I think it would be pretty darned cool to have the TCC Club logos in all of my pics.

LandCrusher909 is already the Commander of Operations for California so Maybe I could be the West Coast Individual TCC rep. I have been wheeling and camping with Rob several times and have dined at his house and wrenched on his rigs on more the just a few occasions. Maybe these could be considered my Club Meeting and Events.

Now where is my TCC Membership form?

LOL

L

I can see the lake right now, just have to turn my head 90 degrees and look out the dining room window.

Let me know when you'll be in the area. I'd love to meet everyone!

Shoot me a message when you're in the area!

Rob can get you signed up...
I was planning on ACT 2010...then we had a lil kid, then we decided to buy a new old house and to remodel it, then ....

Hoping for ACT 2012...I've been wanting to do it since I heard about it. Maybe I'll be able to make the trip in a couple years.
