Well, since our old Border Colle couldn't stand up anymore we had to put him down a few months ago. Then a month or so ago we put ourselves on some search lists to adopt another. After not getting any good hits, we got one last week which we took - Rescue dogs are really appreciative and rescue organizations (for border collies anyway) don't take neurotic dogs.

Anyway, we got another good hit today about another one. If anybody is looking for a really smart and friendly type dog, you might want to check her out:

Cruiser Content - They are really good dogs to take on runs...

Sorry to hear bout your loss; good on ya for getting another, and posting available.

FWIW, I second Steve's editorial about BC's: they are incredibly tuned into Their People, and quite accomodating w/those who are Not. Lived w/a rescue BC for manymonths, and house-sat another several times. They are closer to foxes/cats than wolves.

If you take my three dogs and treat them well, I'll take her. She should eat less than them.

Ditto on the BC's. Most of you have met my BC dog Riley and he is a GREAT trail and camping pooch. He is very smart and intuitive. I highly recommend getting one. But, they are a working breed so if you're gonna leave her at home for 10 hours while you're at work, come home and not exercise her, that's not a good thing for these dogs. You'll end up with a mischievous dog who won't be making you very happy!

Ditto!
