Wife wants to take a weekend up at boone to do an overnighter. Any good spots for primitive camping? It will probably be friday night and a sat. Dont mind a little drive as we are hitting the parkway and grandfather mountain.

Several spots along FSR 192 aka rouckhouse gap rd. Easy access to grandfather mtn and parkway.

Search cragg nc.
192 runs between roseboro rd and edgemont road. Jeep trail rd is a dead end btw

Depending on if you are camping in the truck or in a tent, there are some spots off Pineola Rd. in Collettsville like Little lost cove trailhead and Huntfish falls. Huntfish is about a 20 min hike in and there are some good camping spots along the way. I used to do some fly fishing guides in college in the lost cove area and there are plenty of spots to camp and signs marking the trails on Pineola rd.

This is a great website to use to find good trails/camping spots in the area. Hunt Fish Falls Trail

There are a lot of really cool spots on old NC 105, they are all along the western rim of linville gorge. I also found a really good spot this past weekend at the 239 (North Harper Creek Falls) trail head. There is also a good spot in this general area. Its on the way from Blowing rock to Old House Gap Rd (36.07789, -81.78446)
