McGrew Trail Ride hosted by PMC... Sept 27 to 29th, 2024.

We lost Jeff Bomke to cancer in November of 2023, this will be his memorial Run. Find more details in the Pacific Mountain Cruisers (PMC) forum, or contact me directly.

If you have ever run this trail with Jeff and myself, please return one more time to say 'Thanks Jeff'.

I am so sorry to hear this. I remember Jeff stopping along the trail and picking huckleberries with my children. I hope to make this ( in my manual steering open top FJ40).

Met a lot of folks during my week caretaking in Rubicon Springs who were interested so bumping this to the top.

Expect more details and conversation in early August.

I am in as this is in my back yard . let me know if there is anything you need help with

Excellent... I need an experienced trail guides who know the route.

Leaving for CO tomorrow for a week (all the high elevation passes), will get serious about this run upon my return.

Shirt design has begun, raffle items are accumulating, anticipation is growing.

Alright lets get this party started we are about a month out .

Again, met a lot of folks interested in this run while serving as caretaker so bump to the top as promised.

The primary thread on the McGrew Trail Ride is in my club's forum, Lets see if I can copy the link:

Permit secured, shirt design nearly finalized and prerunning the route this weekend before returning to the Rubicon 8/28 for another 10 day stint as caretaker for Mark and Maria.

I hope to confirm Jeff Greenwood (Rubithon Chairman elect) as trail leader for the Friday group out of OBrien and I'll be leading the forest road group via High Divide (all business for me, stuff to carry in, etc).

Remember, thoroughly clean the undercarriage of your vehicle due to Port Orford Cedar Root disease and is a permit requirement.

More to come...

Tony i can meet up with you this weekend if you would like ?

Here is what I know... this Friday 23rd, O'Brien store, run FS road to damaged bridge, determine impact. Use Patrick Crk?, etc.

What I don't know... time arriving in O'Brien. Leaving Fortuna around 8... 2 hrs to Crescent City, 1 or 1.5 hr to O'Brien?? Hoping not that late but that is probably pretty close...

Definitely No Fires

Supposed to storm pretty good tonite and tomorrow

Let me know what you found out
