This probably falls into the "General Shop Knowledge" category, but for those of us who do a wide range of projects (including Land Cruiser work) Bolt Depot is the best source of fastener info I've ever come across.
The page of printable fastener tools alone makes it valuable, but I'm interested enough to read about all the different types so I know the right thing to ask for at the hardware store when I come across a new fastener puzzle.
