I have some good quality body filler; both 'filler' and 'glazing'. It's about 3 yr old, kept well closed and inside garage.

Is it still good ?

The hardener looks like it has seperated....I'm sure it is not good.

Is hardener hardener ? I'm sure there's 'quality' and 'color' differences; otherwise, any quality hardener will do?

Thanks,

Pete

ususally those little tubes of hardener can be massaged back into shape. Hardener is hardener, unless you have some freak product that requires a special blend of some sort.
The filler will separate as well, but a clean a long screwdriver and stir it up, then user a paper shop towel to clean off the screwdriver.

Problem with some fillers and especially glazing, is over time they harden and become difficult to use. For example 3M came out with a product called "Piranha Putty". It is a finishing glaze. Mine sat in a cupboard in the house and is garbage! It was like clay. Those finishing putty's should be running, kind of like a Mrs. Butterworth's syrup.

Worst case, mix some up on cardboard and try it out.

Thank You dmaddox.

The glazing compund is about the same consitancy (and was that way when 'new') like very warm butter.

The body filler was, and still is, a bit more pasty, like warm cream cheese.

I'll get some hardner and 'test' as you suggest.

Again,

Thanks

Pete

both will be fine, you won't have any problemns. Knead the hardener tube. Hell, even the juice from the hardener will harden the filler and glaze.
