Hey all.
I see a few guys running the Fusion app with some sort of OBD reader plugged in.

I may be towing a u-haul storage container for an upcoming move and wanted to ask.

Who has tried different versions of this BT OBD reader and found the best or most useful one?

I'm interested in the the most details and a transmission temp gauge as well.

(LX470 or LC100)

I've been using the BAFX OBDII plugin with the TORQUE app. It only seems to work properly with Android phones, much to the dismay of Malleus the Younger. I'd rate it 3 out of 5 stars, because the first one I bought two years ago died (can't see that in a box with no moving parts) and it's just not Techstream.

Does Malleus the Younger eat from the so called Apple?.

Sometimes it seems so...

I also have the BAFX OBD reader. It's worked great for a couple years now. I use the Torque app, although last I checked Torque wasn't working with Android 11, so it doesn't work on my phone right now. I usually run it on an old Kindle Fire 7 during trips.

Can you get transmission temperature or AHC fluid levels?

I know you can monitor transmission temperature with the paid version of Torque. You might need to program a special PID into Torque depending on your model year. I have an 06 and had to add a PID in order to monitor my transmission temperatures.

I didn't have to do anything special on my 04 LC. It does occasionally lock up and stop reading trans temp, so I just restart the app and it works again.

Is this the Toyota torque app in the play store, what bluetooth reader do you use with it?

Just called Torque. It's in the app store. The BAFX OBD reader uses Bluetooth.

Other one is the BlueDriver OBDII reader. I have that one and have had good luck with it but don't know if it will work with Torque app or not.
