Blue Ledge Mine......

Has anyone in the Club been up around the Blue Ledge mine near Applegate lake?? I'd like to go somewhere Sunday for a little wheeling and then a picnic lunch and swimming for the kids. Any local area favorites you'd like to recommend? Kief, how about that area near the town of Applegate? There is a road I've seen across the river from the restaurant that goes back in there a-ways. Any nice things to see back there?

There is a lot of roads up above Applegate lake past seattle bar, the squaw lakes to the left of the damn but off road travel is a little iffy in fire season- check restrictions. I'm not sure of what road you mean by the restaurant- Thompson Creek is a nice drive and you can come out by Carberry Creek or take Dutchmans Peak and come out at Mt. Ashland.. All of those are forest service roads but beautiful scenery..

I'm gone this weekend, but next weekend shows good weather. Wonder if I can sneak one more weekend of camping in.

Haven't been to Squaw Lake in years. Very pretty up there, wouldn't mind going back up there.

The back road to Dutchman's peak is pretty, but it's a long drive. Lot longer than I expected. Roads had bad washboard last time I was on it too (could years ago), so be prepared for that (slows down travel speed quite a bit).
