I am going to be staying at a cabin in blowing rock this upcoming weekend. While I am there I plan on going to Richland road either Friday or Saturday if anyone would like to join. Never been on this trail before and honestly didn't know about it until tonight. Looks interesting.

It's a fun trail for sure.
Rougher than I thought it would be. Went during the week and didn't see anyone else out there.

Just curious, can you cross the bridge in the beginning or do you have to do the river bypass? Doesn't look too serious but I am sure I will go solo and won't have a spotter. I have watched several videos of that bypass and there looks to be one part that could be a bit tricky if you don't pic the right line.

I went over the bridge. The first rock face after the bridge (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it) is the worst looking obstacle, but I went right up without any problems. This is coming in from the Richlands side I see lots of videos of people running the trail reverse and coming in from Sampson Road area.

Hey man I appreciate the info. I will enter through the richlands side since that is closest to the cabin we are staying at. Do you have any idea why the bride say private keep off? Just got new tires so looking forward to trying them out. Can't wait to do some wheeling.

When you enter in from Richlands you are going to see lots of signs that say private road keep out and such. From what I've read the road is not private but a un-maintained State road. If you want to do the creek it doesn't look bad at all. To be honest I really didn't realize I was at the creek crossing/bridge area until I was already on it.
