My lil car (1984 Honda Accord) needs the above. Shop tried ordering from a 'vintage' parts place ( apparently 1984 makes it a:zilla: ) but no luck finding one. Ditto when I tried hunting one up on the interweb.

Looks like we're gonna have to wire up directly to the motor (either off or on, no in between), but I thought I'd see if ya'll have any suggestions.

Thots? (besides "buy a newer lil car", "drive the 60 more" and "sweat is healthy")

Thanks, :beer:

junkyard?

I think that a lot of hondas of the same generation would share parts like that, I seem to recall that I swapped one into my 84 civic wagon from a newer car

radio shack??

are you talking about the temp sensor part that threads into the radiator? i rigged a dash switch in an 85 civic last year as I couldn't find one that worked in a wreckers and got tired of draining the rad to try after two attempts. the switch worked fine. the car would slowly overheat at idle if you forgot.

If he really means blow motor resistor that is the unit that changes resistance in the fan circuit to make the different speeds. They commonly burn on many vehicles for a number of reasons. Water intrusion is one, excessive heat is another. Late model GM trucks, silverado/sierra 99-05 are known for it, we do 5-10 a month. I'm not familiar with a honda that old but a BMR is by nature a simple item that can be duplicated with a radio shack and some reseach in the FSM for OHM readings and motor/switch specifications. Or with a couple Honda FSM's or junkyard experimentation one could be found that would work.

Sometimes it is as simple as resoldering a connection.

We have a winner!

try this place...

they just may have what you need...

SCORE !! $20. I owe you some :beer::beer::beer:

Neat site, saw lotsa stuff I wouldn't've known about otherwise.

FWIW the AC did seep out w/the blower switch on high. Enuf not to totally melt in mid-afternoon traffic anyway.

We did try junkyards, no luck there either. That's where the switch came from a couple years back.

Soldering & Radio Shack & OHM readings = :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:. There's a reason I still need to pass 2nd semester physics.

Thanks for the help!!

Lol, glad you found it.
