Date: 11/19/2008 BLUERIBBON COALITION ACTION ALERT!
Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,
BLM Seeks Input on Buffalo Field Office RMP Revision
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Buffalo Field Office (BFO), is beginning the revising of their Resource Management Plan (RMP). The revised RMP will provide future direction for managing approximately 800,000 acres of BLM-administered surface land and 4.7-million acres of BLM-administered mineral estate in Campbell, Johnson, and Sheridan counties in north-central Wyoming.
The RMP is the basic document used to guide land use decisions and management actions on public lands for 20 years or more. The first step in this process is to work with interest groups and the public in identification of management issues. To achieve this, the BLM encourages the public's participation in one of several scoping meetings being held in early December 2008 (see schedule below).
These meetings are an opportunity for the public to comment on development of the RMP. There will be presentations at 3:30 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m., along with question & answer sessions, and time to visit one on one with the specialists about additional questions, comments, or concerns.
These meetings will be the first opportunity for local interests and residents to participate and share their insights and comments. As the BLM proceeds with the planning process, additional opportunities for public participation will be provided.
