Hey guys I enjoyed meeting everyone at the meeting tuesday. I definately want to join up and help out.

I have a question though about those blinkers. I have tried to remove the right blinker to clean up the hole and tighten it up for a good ground but I can't get the nut to loosen. I can turn the bolt from under the fender but there is nothing to hold onto on top. is there some special tool that i don't have?

I have attached a picture of the blinker base. The small gold circle in the middle will just spin and spin. and i can't seem to find anything to feep it still...

any ideas?

Looks like you have to insert a hexagonal (aka allen) wrench in the visible end while turning the nut. Hard to tell w/o seeing it directly.

Ps: i have a set of these with a couple fairly large ones. pm if you want to drop by and grab them.

yea, i think my picture is decieving you. the hole is circular...I have just stripped it out trying to stick screwdrivers down in there for support. so it doesn't look circular anymore.

Thanks though!

Ah....

I know someone makes a tool which is like a pair of plyers which opens when you squeeze the handle--for spreading rings or something--not sure what it's called. If you could get one of those in there it might give you enough leverage. Soak it real good in liquid wrench overnight. I had a stuck oil plug awhile back that took me 3 days of banging soaking and torquing to pry loose.

good luck.

You might use an easy-out. Used for removing broken bolts, how big is the hole I may have one that wiill fit.

the hole is about 3/8th of an inch wide.
if you have one let me know I would like to get this thing off without cutting it or anything.

Hwgates-from the pic its difficult to tell what we could use.
May be a good thing to come out one weekend when were working on trucks to maybe have this solved.

that'd be great... just let me know when ya'll are getting together...

I have an easy-out that goes up to a tad over 7/16, should work, now to get it into your hands. I'm north east of Brandon work nites, home on weekends. Any ideas?
