for what size tire? buy 15x8s for a 12.5 wide tire. 10s look stupit.

that said, put some 80 series tims on it, better wheel, OEM Toyota, 16s and you can paint them black.

everybody has those ugly trailer wheels. I have two extra sets, one steel and one from the LX450, shipping would be a bitch though.

What is the BS difference between the 80 series wheels & the OEM taco wheels?

Would 285s on 80 series wheels fit a first gen taco with an OME lift (heavy) w/out spacers?

Hmmm...

whoa, thread revival. in case Battlewagon doesn't speak up; there is no difference, they're both 4.5"

and yes they should fit with a 2" lift, might have to trim a .5" off the inside of your front bumper which you wouldn't notice and is a much, much better alternative to additional lift.

it's also not ever recommended to put a spacer on top of a lift spring. since they essentially do the same thing to obtain lift it stresses your CV joints well out of spec and you would experience failure promptly.

do it, find some LX450 wheels they look a little cooler.

I don't think that's true. The OEM Tacoma wheels are usually 16x7 (or 15x7) rather than 16x8, and the backspacing is more like 5 or 5.25. 285's on stock Tacoma rims will rub the UCA and possibly other suspension parts.

But if you are going with 285's, then the Cruiser wheels would do a better job of moving the tire away from the suspension, but you'll rub the fender in spots.
