Black or beige interior with kids?

Do you guys think I would be safe with a tan interior with second row covered with wet okole seat covers and weathertech or husky mats?

I really like BP/tan color combo. I've never had kids so I don't know how destructive they are. I am sure it depends what you give them to eat and drink back there though.

It will be fine. Just keep them in straight jackets and only allow water in sippie cups. :)

I've got tan and currently have Husky liners. It has worked well so far, my only concern with the Husky is that it doesn't cover as far on each side as the Weathertech ones, which is exactly where the kids love to plant their feet. The tan makes it feel more spacious, but man does it get dirty fast.

Darker the better to hide PERMANENT interior damage by kids.

We still have an 07 RX that was purchased brand new when my wife was pregnant. Light exterior with beige interior. We have two kids that have done everything in it. It’s still her daily driver and kid transport. I got all weather mats right away. I don’t think we have ever done a super deep clean on it other than cleaning up messes and having the car wash guys vacuum it out. It’s spent the last 5 years hauling around wet kids and gear back and forth from the beach. It looks great, and I’m sure if I got in there with some Folex and a wet vac I could get it looking super nice. The materials don’t stain, and have worn extremely well.

I just bought a white ‘16 LX with the parchment interior specifically because of the heat and I didn’t think twice about it based on how well the RX held up. I just got Llumar IRX tint all around (80% on the windshield) to block Infrared heat and UV since it will be outside year round in the tropical sun. too soon to report on its effectiveness but based on the heat lamp demo I am expecting excellent results.

I've always gone for white/beige since I've been living in FL and TX. Interior feels a bit cooler and paint fade is less of an issue with white. Had a white/beige lexus gs400 while my kids were growing up. The leather stood up but things like seatbelts, carpets, etc showed the wear and tear. Black interior would be better in that regard. Car was about a year old when my older son decided the rear armrest/cupholders would be a good place to store cheese crackers. I never got out all the pieces.

Covering the seats is a great idea. Regardless of color. Perforated leather, hot humid weather and sweaty kids are not a good combination. Trust me on this.

Previous owner of my LC had kids onboard and the second row seatbacks took a beating. Car was like new other than those seatbacks. I'd cover those too if they'll be riding in the third row.

Black leather. Plenty of black seat treatments to restore color as they get damaged. Beige is hard to match.

How hard is it to keep the cabernet (lx) interior clean or the terra(LC) clean?
Terra interior on LC is easy to keep clean. Dark leather will show crumbs, dust, smudges but it all wipes off. The light grey leather in my Lexus gets deep down dirty which is hard to get clean again.

Mine is beige and I have 3 kids. They are doing a lot less damage to the inside than I am doing to outside. So I don't worry about it. It is a truck after all. The white / beige is very cool in the summer heat.

I have the beige interior but I don’t have kids. After a couple years, the driver’s seat and center console started to look a little dirty. I spent about an hour wiping down the interior with a damp cloth and then used a leather treatment. It cleaned up very nicely.

I prefer a lighter color interior. Black interiors feel like a cave inside and also get hotter in the sun.
