Or were your dropping off a plane for a paint job?

Who do you fly for now?

I am an AME.

good luck with the dealership!

Brownbear, I was working on my commercial at the time. I did most of my flight training while I was at college in barrie. After I got all my papers I went and managed an airport for 5 years, bought a Chief on floats and just had fun with it - flew to oshkosh one year.

Then got out of aviation totally when I was hired with Nepean Fire Dept, which has since amalgamated with Ottawa Fire. Haven't been in a plane since. (five years) I miss it a little bit, but I have other fun hobbies now.

Regards

Cool, means your IAFF 162? IAFF 2864 here (into 20th year). We've a fellow just hired on last year that was Commerical, looked at the industry and set his sights on Fire.

Ya getting into flying is a hard thing for new guys. Nobody wants to hire the new guys, and if you get a job its pay is soo low you can't afford to live. Hence why I picked maintenance.

Some employers actually hire new pilots and they work for free. Just to get the intial hours. Where else can you get a trained person to work for free? It degrades the career. But sometimes thats what it takes it seems. Thats aviation. definately not as glamourous as people seem to think.

But yes Moose, I do know of many 24v parts and such, its in my catalogues. So if you need help. I may know of a solution, but aircraft crap is always overpriced. so who knows???

Hi Greg, yup the 162. Just starting my 9th year in a few days.

Bear, flying was fun, but flying for a living takes the fun out of it. I did my arctic tour with First air and didnt find it that fun.

I would consider float flying again though, that was some of the most fun ive ever had.
