I have an 1988 jap import BJ74 mwb landcruiser and i'm interested in purchasing fitted seat covers like gtcovers and SOR retail. Neither of them state BJ74 in their model lists, my question is are my seats the same as any other models?

Sor list BJ70 and gtcovers just list land cruiser from 84 to 90. Would either of these be an exact fit?

Cheers

Are you able to post up a pic of the seats, to give a reference point?

I pulled the back seat out of my 70 years ago, so I am not sure on that, but the fronts appear to be similar. Might be better to snap a pic in the daytime to be sure though. I emailed SOR the other day about seat covers, and they got back to me within a day to answer my question about shipping. Might want to email/call them, see if they know.

Talk to Neil or Trevor at RooDogs in Melbourne about seat covers. Ordering from the USA will cost a fair bit in shipping. As long as you have the regular BJ74 seats, the canvas duck seat covers they will work.

Are 60 series seats the same as 70s? Buckes in front and bench in rear.

That's a variable answer... depending on the trim level the seats can be pretty similar or not the same at all.

Some models came with plain seats and others came with suspension seat bases with a plain basic seat, and then others came with the upscale seats with electric lumbar and adjustable side bolsters.

Same thing for the rear seats, there are the plain seats that stow away flat and then there are the split/folding seats in the higher trim level models.

The seat covers tend to be made only for the plain seats.

Even in the plain trim seats there are two different styles of rear seats. The seats that came with 3 point seat belts are substantially different than the ones that came without. The rear seat that came in my jdm bj73 sat much more forward and upright than the seat out of the Canadian bj70 we parted out.
