Bj74 D bush play,sway-bar

Over the weekend I replaced the bushes within the sway bar as there was slight knocking within steering, as when inspected I could move the sway bar 2-3 mm within the sway bar bracket.(D Bush)
Therefore replaced the bushes, and found that bushes that came out were the exactly same type that I put in, and still there was 2-3mm play within the bracket, so I decided to add some rubber to within bracket to reduce the play with bush and bracket.
So the knocking has been removed but I must say the steering has slightly become a little heavy as a result.
Question?. is the play within sway bar bush and bracket normal or should it fit snug,

I had to measure my bar and get bushes to suit from Pedders. Mine is a snug fit, doesn't effect steering at all.

My bar 23mm thick, and also got bushes from pedders, it seems they have play in the bracket , butdo fit snug around the bar itself, maybe I've tightened the pin bushes up too much

Got a photo? Mine were hard to bolt up in the bracket they were that tight.

Snap as requested, There is no wiggle room now as I mentioned I added a thin slither of stubby holder material inside bracket to reduce play,
I actually put my brackets into vice and tightened the arc of the bracket in attempt to allow bush to sit more snug, no issues with bolting
