Yup; like Oz says.

BJ74 MC has a bolt hole in the end for the heat shield.
No such thing on 80 series MC.

G'day mate, where did you get that 1 inch extension from, can you provide me with some more details??

You can make it with a nut that is long/deep enough to get a good thread on the existing and to add the inch of the same thread/diameter bolt and then tighten a thin or regular nut on each side to keep it from vibrating loose.
