Picking this one back up - im looking at installing a turbo on to my 3B. I bought the car about 3-4 years ago and has about 570,000km on the clock but the previous owner had the engine rebuilt with all the paperwork included in the sale and has about 170,000km since the rebuid. The motor never misses beat and the whole cra is great condition but is gutless on hills on the freeway.
Ive been quoted $3500 AUD to have a turbo system fully installed and warranted for 2 years. This would include manifold, plumbing, turbo (GT25) and dyno testing. Do you reckon this would be the safest bet seeing as the motor is still in great condition?

Turbo-ing a 3B makes a world of difference. +30% power and torque is very reasonable.

Having it dyno tuned is a great idea to get the most out of the engine. You will need to decide if you are seeking top end power, or low end torque - the tuning will be a bit different, and the turbo sizing will be a bit different too.

The 3B works best at lower RPM ranges.
