Advice needed please. I have a 88' BJ70 RHD that I am contemplating doing the body work to. There is no fender rust but appears to be some around the bottoms of the side window frames underneath the rubber seals. Also looks like rust developing where the roof mates to the body side panels. I have limited body work experience ...is this type of rust damage worth repairing or would it be too expensive a job?, what should I start with?

the window frame thing is common (mine were beat and I replaced them with new ones from Toyota ) the replacement were SS so no more rusting.
As for the roof gutter you need to get that fixed (not bad yet but getting close to the tipping point) real soon before it gets to the point of no return

Would applying RustBullet or POR15 on the roof gutter be sufficient for stopping the rust or would it need to be cut out & welded? Is there a Toyota part# for the SS window frame?

The window frames were the updated replacement for the old style so just order new ones from Toyota . As for the roof it needs to be sanded down to bare metal removing all the rust ,sanding should remove all the rust as it looks like its not perforated the metal yet. treat the rust ,reseam seal the roof gutter and paint it (not just primer) .

Do you remember how much the window frames were and what the part number is?

Thanks

Louis

I dont remember the price as I got them a long time ago ( LCML was the only thing around at the time)
The part #s were 62705-90k00 RH and 62706-90k00 for the LH
I just moved all my rubber over as it was all still good just cleaned it up before reinstalling

Do you remember how much the window frames were and what the part number is?

Thanks

Louis
