Hi all,
I've got a 1985 BJ70 that after having a new alternator installed and returning from a big trip seems to have lost the ability to pre heat. I'm living in far north Queensland, Australia so I don't have the rough cold morning starts but its still having a rough time in the mornings starting.
It's a bit of a funny thing on first start I turn it on and the pre heat light does not come on, crank it a few times then try again and the pre heat light flickers on, crank it a few more times and try again then the light comes on and goes off and with a few grunts it splutters to life wit a cloud of smoke. The new alternator I installed has an internal voltage regulator and I have bypassed the old voltage regulator. I have a feeling that something may have shaken loose from the trip I've just returned from but I'm not to sure where I should start looking.
Any advice would be awesome.
Cheers,
Shannon
