Hey guys i am new to this cruiser head club so i have a few stupid questions, i want to build a BJ40 over the next couple of years so .........
will most frame a chassis parts off of a fj be fine for a bj?
i am guessing that the diesel motor in the bj will require heavier suspension on the front?
where could i order a good aftermarket frame to start with?

any advice will be appreciated.

I recently got hold of a spare frame from a fj40 , it is identical to my bj frames in everyway except for the front engine mounting plates.

I am sure this would not present a big problem and they could be modified.

i have looked into doing a diesel swap and have actually heard rumors that the 3B is actually a little lighter than the F or 2F engines....i dont know how true that is though...i dont think you would have to worry about your front suspention though....also my understanding is that the FJ/BJ frames are the same except for the engine mounts...good luck with the build up and make sure you take lots of pics!

The BJ40 uses a crossmember to support the back of the transfercase that the FJ40 doesn't have.
