I have a BJ 73 the turbo boost shows 10psi when you drive it then after about 15min driving when the engine becomes warm boost drops to 6psi. anyone ever have the same issue. Runs a Ct-20 factory toyota turbo on a 3B.

I haven't spent a lot of time looking at the 3BII injection pump, but some IPs have a warm up valve that increases the fuel (and base idle) while warming up.

The decrease in boost could be that there's less fuel available after warm up. Boost is controlled by a number of factors, available fuel is one such factor.

The other thing that could be happening is the wastegate/wastegate actuator is somehow operating differently when warmed up vs. cold.

Hey John, I could see this making a difference at idle but while driving at same speed and rpm, not sure why this would make a difference while driving..?

After reading it a second time, I can see this effecting the boost, but thats a big difference, how about a faulty boost gauge? Maybe first try a portable boost gauge which most diesel shops have that will run from engine into cab while testing.
