Hi,I am putting my 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 for sale.I bought this car about 3 years ago from it's first owner here in Panama Central America.Since I used this car for trailriding with the Panama 4X4 club here I did some modifications to it.Remember this is an excellent car for trailriding and offroading, this is where I build it for,I never had the intention to use it a lot on the highway so if you want to use it for highway driving you might want to adjust some things. The BJ is not perfect but it is an overall decent rig, mecanicaly everything is perfect, with the 1HDT and the H151 this thing will climb anything. The axles came from a HJ61 and are Full Floaters about 2 years ago I installed 4.88 Yukon R&P together with all new timken bearings and fabricated a rear Disc brake set up using Toyotacalipers and discs. Also I replaced the leaf springs with coils I just put front and rear OLD MAN EMU competition coils on it.The only reason why I put this for sale is because I am moving from Panama to the US in a few months and like to buy a Double cab P/U to explore the nice trails in the US,since this will envolve a lot of highway driving I think I will be better of with the P/U.If there are enough intressed people I might even part it out.

Asking price is 15000$ (believe me it costed me a lot more:crybaby:)

There are a few things that need to be done for to pass the inspection for the US.Right now the speedometer doesn't work because the cable is missing. Also there is no E-brake since i use rear disc brakes now instead of the drums.

Thanxs for looking

That is a beautiful setup you have. Are the couple problems with it (speedometer cable and parking brake) keeping you from importing it into the US? I would try to fix them so it'll pass the import regulations because you are going to want to have it once you get here. It largely depends on where you are moving to in the US though. If you aren't super familiar with the area where you'll be moving, I bet there is a mud member who could help you figure out what to expect. That might help figure out if you should import it. It seems to me though that basically anywhere you go in the US people would want that rig!

Your price seems low to me too if you sell it in the US.

About the price,I like to keep my prices realistic, anybody can ask whatever they want right? But you still need to find a byer:hhmm:

I like my BJ a lot but I just don't see myself hopping in it to spend a weekend on a trail somewhere 2500 miles away just for the weekend:steer:

In a newer P/U or even a nice 80 it just seems easier to do long distance travelling loaded with camping gear and other stuff. That sayd I did drive the BJ here on some trips that involved 500 km highway drive ,2 to 3 days of wheeling and then back:doh:

I wish I could bring my 08 Hilux with me to the US,this one I consider the perfect allround 4X4.
