Not that I would encourage anyone to do so, but has anyone attempted to update their Navigation System via BitTorrent? ;)(BitTorrent is legal and downloading copyrighted material isn’t.)

My wife :princess: has an '07 Honda Odyssey and I've never updated the maps for the navigation system (Yes, I know I was a sucker :bang: for buying it but we about to move to Thousand Oaks, CA where it would have been a real asset). Now with all the new roads in and around Charlotte and likelihood we'll go on more road trips with the kids a bit older, I want to have the latest info.

I'd much rather put the $189 Honda wants towards some improvements to my 40. Can anyone share first hand experience with downloading and burning a DVD using BitTorrent?

I would never download stuff illegally using bit torrent ;)

But I have downloaded over 100 things using bit torrent and it has worked perfectly almost every time.... I mean my friend has :grinpimp:

Here's the answer. Spend the 189 on a new Garmin Nuvi, which you can download the Topo Maps to., and you'll be able to switch it back and forth from the Honda to the 40. Both problems solved.... :grinpimp:

Hell just find someone to reprogram the honda one and then add a carputer to it. In dash screens are about 1000X better IMHO

But Garmin does have the Yeti voice :hhmm:

Al are you ignoring me? did you already wear my T-shirts... dont lie...

I am with Brian. The Garmin does the trick and you could have it for your cruiser when you needed it.

Ignoring you?????
last I heard was you say next week is better and that was a few weeks ago.

even with new maps from garmin/etc there's no guarantee that the roads will show up - they have to be reported to someone so that navquest? I think that is the company that does most map updates then updates the info - there are still roads that don't show up with my yearly updates for my garmin.... including roads that have been completed for 3+ years, and major roads at that. Also the new portion of NC16 still doesn't show up on my garmin..... so don't be surprised if the new roads aren't on there when you update, however you update ;)
