Howdy. Maybe someone can school me a bit on appropriate shocks for a pig. Currently stock height, will soon be 4-5" higher, more than likely still SUA configuration on alcans. I was looking at bilsteins and it looked like I'll be best off swapping the front shock mounts out with hoops or ford towers. SO here are some questions I have for a pig owner or three.
Are the rear upper shock mounts in the optimal spot? Is there benefit to moving them even more inwards?
For a pig, is there benefit to a bilstein 5150 and a remote reservoir, as compared to a 5125 without a reservoir? 5125's are a bit cheaper and I'm not sure if the extra reservoir even would do anything for moderate off-roading.
I'm pretty sure I want stiffer valving on the pig, especially with the top heavy nature of the beast. Does anyone have any experience with different valvings on a truck of this weight?
I'm getting ready to sell a pretty darn clean and very unmolested 40 soon. All proceeds are going into my 69' fj55 and is the only reason why I can now buy such shiny objects such as bilsteins.
