I am curious on just swapping the (4) stock OEM shocks with bilstein 5100s if it will improve the ride. Keep factory air bags and coils but only swap out the stocks. Will it ride better?

remember, any improvement in the suspension, will improve the ride quality, most of the time for good. That is what I got first, since my front shocks were shot. Then swapped the airbags, because of an accident, with FJ Cruiser springs. Now awaiting on Dobinsons springs to get rid of old springs.

Is it actually an improvement though to go to 5100? I am worried that Lexus has higher standards than bilstein. I hope I am wrong.

Bilstein shocks are a proven company, not chinese brand. Do the search. Pretty sure OEM shocks are not LEXUS brand. Even most tacoma and 4runners shocks nowdays are Bisltein brand, I believe. I will go with Bilstein over the OEM any day. Didn't care about the damping, never noticed a difference. With 5100s, even you are not planning on lift right now, 99% of the time the lift calls you. Just my two worn cents!!

The 5100 will be a very little increase in stiffness as long as you don't try to jack the height up too much
The 6112 is a better choice for ride quality.
