Hello fellow MUDers,

I would like to invite anyone who may have the interest in supporting me, Mike Fox, and the Energy Fitness team as we ride to raise funds for the National Brain Tumor Society’s Ride for Research. This is our fourth year riding in the event and we’re excited about having more donors and riders join the fun for a worthy cause.

You can support the cause in one of three ways:
-Sponsor a team rider in any amount
-Join the team and ride with us
-Join the team and ride where you live on May 16th.

If you join the team, you can choose to ride 10, 25, or 50 miles, and need to raise the minimum of $500 by September. Would love to see a good Toyota contingent join the ranks!

I’d like to sincerely thank the members of Yankee Toys and Gotham City Land Cruisers for their support over the rides of the last couple years. I was blown away by your generosity and truly appreciate you foregoing those precious Toyota parts dollars to support this event.

Cruiser content: Our team vehicle is a 1981 HJ47 troopy! It can almost keep up with the riders. (Actually, that was last year's troopy status and now it can't keep up with anything as it's in hundreds of tiny pieces awaiting a new engine at Wally's Land Cruiser Steroid Factory)

For more information and a look at the raffle prizes, please visit www.one50one.net

Donate here!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for considering this request.

Best regards,
Randy

In true FJ25 fashion (cruiser content) I have joined Team one50one and will be piloting my classic 1983 Peugeot PH12 road bike in to 50 miler with Randy. Support our cause any way you can!!!

Mike - Thanks for joining the team and cause! That's cool that you're resurrecting the classic PH12 Peugeot...nice bike. How about a pic?

We now have 16 team members and counting!

Thanks to all the YT and GCLC folks who have donated this year. Very generous and a big help as we try to reach our goal.

Is that the same one Elliot rode in ET??

3 days to go. Who is going to show up and support us?

I need someone to massage my legs after the ride. :p

Alright, if you feel uncomfortable doing that, then you can make a monetary donation to either of us :D to make up for it.

Sunday is calling for partly cloudy and 73, perfect day for riding!!

Jason Peters says that for a $1000 donation, he will wear pink spandex riding shorts. and for another $1000, he'll put pants over them.

OK, ok................stop with the mental images................

I'd ride my thirty year old Schwinn but I can't walk up a flight of stairs the last few weeks. Have a good ride guys! :bounce:

in this picture you see Mike Randy and Dave B.

We need to talk about your recruiting strategy . Not sure that massaging your legs and pink spandex will motivate a bunch of Toyota gear heads.

You clearly have too much free time on your hands. Don't you have some body work to do? If you have time to paint your friends pink, you have time to ride with us.

:crybaby: what's happening to this thread?!

On a great note, almost every team rider has reached their minimum fund raising goals and we're close to hitting the overall team goal of $12,000. Thanks again to YT and GCLC folks who have donated. You guys are awesome!

What a great ride for a great cause. Thanks to all of the volunteers who ran the event, glad Liv is going to be ok, thanks to my team mates who kept me going throughout the day, and thanks to our team captain Randy Elkin for leading the way. He is a madman on a bike!!

YTers and fellow mudders, if you have a bike, whether it be mountain or road, get training and join Team one50one next year for the 10, 25 or 50 mile ride. I will be back!

What a great day! 17 team riders from folks who haven't been on a bike in 15 years to fixed gear nut cases.

We have raised $12k to date and are close to doubling our efforts from last year. Awesome considering the '09 Ride for Research fund raising is down 60% as compared to last year. Not surprising though given the economy. Many thanks again to the good folks in YT and GCLC for helping to make it happen.

Fox is a hammer! Nice job on the PH12 Mike and thanks for jumping on board. Very fun to ride with you.

Mike, thanks for your support and bump! Looking forward to riding with you on May16th.

Last year's ride was a blast and we raised $14,000! It's looking like a smaller turn out this year so I hope folks will consider riding with us, sponsoring our team riders, or spreading the word to those who you think might be interested.

Here's our new logo for this year's ride. We created a charitable division of Energy Fitness this year designed to support our desire to give back to our community.

Charitable mission statement: Our mission is to support non-profit organizations which address cancer research, patient care, and the needs of children at risk. All proceeds go towards organizations that provide direct care and utilize a systemic approach in the areas of health and education.

We also just struck an alliance with Children's Hospital in Boston where we are creating a pilot program for overweight children, ages 12-19, who lack the resources to create a healthy and fit lifestyle. Very exciting stuff.

This year's National Brain Tumor Society's Ride takes place on May16th and we openly invite YOU to join our team, sponsor a team rider, or simply spread the word.

Sponsor a rider or join the team here

As always, thank you very much for your consideration!

I did a 22 mile training ride on Tuesday. Peters and I are hitting some trails tomorrow on the mtb's to mix up the training regime. I hope to see some of you either join us for the Boston ride or support us any way that you can!!

Nice ride Mike! Your legs must be smoked. Weather looks perfect for the ride on Sunday.

Special thanks to Flipper for donating a case of his Wicked Good wine for our raffle. Thanks John! Hopefully you'll get some wicked good PR.
