I am looking at buying one of the 18 ft 7000lb big Tex trailers for hauling my FJ40 to events.
Anyone have any feedback on these trailers or if they are known for problems?

When I bought mine there were two models one used angle iron (cheaper) and the other C channel. I went with C channel and after a few years sold it to my father-in-law. Because of the heavier construction he just added a 3'rd axle to haul a tractor. If you can I would go with the C channel just because its better built.

they are very popular around here and appear very well constructed to me for the most part.. Perhaps this depends on model though. Anyway, I would probably buy one..

My Bro owns a landscape company and they purchased two large goosenecks and had problems with the welds on both of them. He ended up taking them back and getting his money back! We have a 20 foot single axle that we use for four wheelers that we have not had a problem with that trailers well on the road but is too low to take too far off the beaten path.

I have big TEx Dump trailer and it works well.
For Car hauling I use A Drimar Trailer. It was the only one I found that has brakes on both axles. good for a heavy Cruiser. The bad part of the Brimar's is the Dove tail is low. Good For Hot rods though.
I have drug my Brimar to Moab and few other places and pulled it through the snow over some passes. Definatley like the dual axle breaks.
