One thang in common at all the places I visited was reference to the Caddo Indians. Me and Brutus was coverin' the same ground they did back in the day. All three states we were in had references to them bein' in the area. Discussed how they were incredibly advanced in agriculture which allowed them to settle down and quit roamin' all over chasin' the ass ends of buffaloes. Discussed how advanced they were in economics and how they controlled the trade in the entire area. Discussed how advanced they were in education and how important that was in their advanced culture. Discussed how advanced they were in government and how well they were organized. Discussed how peaceful they were. Discussed how we then proceeded to herd them into a s***ty lil' area in Oklahoma ... but allowed them to maintain themselves as an independent nation. Discussed how we then sucked them into the State of Oklahoma and how they continue to this day to struggle to maintain their identity.

So Friday mornin', packed up yet again and headed to Gilmer. Had to go past it once to restock the banquet beer down in Gladewater. Rolled into Barnwell Mountain early afternoon and set up camp in Old Camp.

With the burn ban just lifted there as well, had a nice fire with some nice company. Didn't wheel Brutus none there since I still didn't have no juice in the front diff but rode with Jason and Butch on Saturday and enjoyed the hell out of it.

Packed my s*** one last time and pulled off the Mountain before sunrise and pointed Brutus back to Over The Hill Offroad. As I pulled under the awnin' at Charles' shop, the trip odometer on Brutus rolled over to exactly 1000.0 miles since I had left there over a week before. Pretty cool.

Other than the mile or two of streambed in Green Acres, this entire trip could have just as easily been done in a family sedan. Reckon it just seemed a bit more like an adventure drivin' Brutus though. And it was really cool that at no time durin' the entire trip was I ever more than 4 hours from the 3X's.

When it's all said and done ... life is simply a collection of stories. This trip was a fantastic time for me and added a few of those stories to my collection.

With some sadness, I hopped back in Lightnin' and hauled ass back to work. Ended up puttin' 3,165 miles on her in order to pull off this lil' adventure.

And I'm already lookin' forward to the next one ... wherever it might be.
