best way to romove....?

since i got my new bumper / tire carrier, my rusted old tire lift under the truck is stuck about half-way down, swinging a clunking around. It looks like it bolts through from the TOP of the cross member.
needless to say, i want to remove this. whats the best way to remove it.? grind off the studs? just cut the chain and let the lift part slowly rot off?

I would just cut the chain. The crossmember can be a major PITA to remove if you live in any kind of salty reigon. Not worth the time or effort.

id' say try to unbolt the lift also. leave the crossmember there.

or just douse it with Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, etc..., loosen the sucker up, and then crank it up tight against the bottom of the cross member and forget about it. this worked great for us when we put the Kaymar on the truck.
