Did anyone do the $25 worth of smooth edge worm clamps for the CV boots?

I need too. One of mine is throwing grease.

I just thought of two items that are a must for this thread and bought separately are under $100 each!

Metal Tech Rear Coil Conversion DIY Kit to delete the air bags and get some proper springs under our rigs! $59.95

And the Genuine Toyota 48302-35040 Spring Seat Sub-Assembly off of Amazon for $62

Alright, I sort of feel like an idiot posting this, because I feel like I should have known about this LOOOOONG ago!

I got my wife her first GX (an '03) in July, 2004, and she drove it for 10 years to the month. During that time of ownership, I always HATED that fact that the 3 non-driver's doors seemed to be locked every time I was outside of the vehicle (Hers was set in the mode of "Lock when gear shifter moved out of park, and remain locked until manually unlocked." Every early GX I've ever encountered seemed to be set that way from the factory, and I didn't drive it enough to become accustomed to unlocking the doors when I got out of it.)

In any event, it was always annoying to me, and I never could bring myself to take it to the dealership to spend $75 to have them reset the setting to some other mode. Plus, the only other mode that made sense to cure the problem was the "Lock when moved out of park, and unlock when put back in park," but from a personal safety standpoint, I didn't like the idea of having the car automatically unlock when my wife was about to get out it.

ANYWAY, that's a long story to get where I am going: I have experienced the same frustration with my recently-acquired '04, and when looking for something in the owner's manual yesterday, I accidentally happened upon an entry for OWNER-programmable instructions for 4 different automatic lock settings. Without detailing each one of them, they're there, and I found one that works perfectly for me! In my '04 owner's manual, the instructions are on page 18.

Problem solved! (And I'm still an idiot for not knowing this for the last nearly 12 years!):grinpimp:

@TexAZ. I believe this is what you were looking for

I also, ordered the clamps from PFRAN and had them installed on the CV's when I did my lift and new suspension to both by GX470 and LC 100 series. They seem to be working great for me!

The 10 clamp kit?
Also the LED for the 4 runner?
CV clamp kit (10 piece)

I did my LX and my GX, so I bought a 10 clamp kit and a 6 clamp kit. :D And Pfran has an LED kit for the GX too...is it not showing up? I've actually had a little trouble with the LED boards sticking in there like they're supposed to...they're mostly just sitting just on top of the lens cover and bouncing around in there.... :-/

New roof rack for about $60.

Cross bars are 1" EMT Conduit with the ends pinched in a vise. I did not use the bolts from the cross bars. I used stainless steel carriage bolts. The square under the head of the bolt was an exact fit in the slot of the factory rails. Used four on each side as well as some nylon spacers. I did not run the EMT all the way to the end because I have canoe bars I can take on and off as needed.

Borrowed rack idea from T4R.org. I like it. Need to add a fairing. A bit of noise. Not bad with all windows closed though.

Bumping this back up to the top!

Here is another one, hood struts from liftsupportsdepot.com. Lifetime warranty, they are nice and smooth, very happy with them after six months of use. I believe the pair was around $40 shipped.

Nice small mod for those that have pulled out the rear air suspension. Its Toyota part number 58839-60040 or if you don't want the pocket you can go with part number 58839-60020 which is a blank piece you could use for switches and what not. About $20 total.

Did this today

How difficult is that to remove? I've got the plate I'm installing a switch on and I'd really like to not destroy the console in the process
