I noticed today that my gas cap does not seal any more  Some how the filler got bent an dnow the cap does not seal properly....Any advice on how to straighten it in the truck??? Of do I need to pull the whole thing out and do it outside of the truck??? Thanks

I just replaced my filler tube and put a brand new cap on. I was getting spill over when the tank was full and it looks like I have solved the problem. I was luck enough to pick up the filler and cap on ebay for $30 with shipping. I did notice that my old one and the used filler I installed both seemed to be bent inward on the lowest portion of the "ring" that causes the cap to seal. I don't know if they are that way factory or if time just causes this. I'm not sure where your filler is bent at though. You are welcome to my old filler if you want it, I can send a pic to detail what I'm talking about too.

Yeah, mine is bent at the bottom where it should allow the cap to snug up. I will have to look for someone parting a truck out and replace it I guess. If it isn't one thing its another :)

Since the new "used" filler tube I installed seems to be bent at the bottom just like my old one was and it doesn't leak now I would tend to believe that it was the new cap I installed and not the filler tube. I would buy a new cap and try it, if it doesn't work then go to the filler tube, nothing wrong with getting a new cap anyways.

I thought the same thing so I went and bought a new cap on the way home from work a few days ago...still no seal....Gotta try something else...Thanks Tim
