How much belly clearance do you have???

OK, so I started to install the SM465, 203 reduction box, 205 transfer case in the 45 over the weekend. I had asked that Wagoner not clock the 205 up flat because I didn't want to move the under passenger seat fuel tank. Even with the stock transmission tunnel removed, the 205 hangs way, way too low. So , I got out the Sawzall and "clearanced" the floor pan, now I'm happier with it, but I don't know where to stop. How much below the frame rail should I allow the 205 front output to hang? It's like 2 inches now. I'm thinking that's pretty good, and I don't want the drivetrain to be sitting next to me when I'm driving. Any thoughts? And yes, I know this thread would be useless without pictures. ;)

At ride height with 38s, I would have 24 inches to bottom of transfer case. Should I stop or keep going? Thanks, Luke

I have 23" of clearance with 40's and a flat bellypan (framerails)

Personaly, I would go with as flat a pan as I could. Then lower your rig to match..

Anyone else want to weigh in with opinions. Not that I distrust Mace, the more opinions the better. Luke

My 420 will sit less than 1/4" below the frame, but the atlas is above it....

AWESOME rear shaft from THE MAN!

Have gained at least 4.5" under the truck, midframe area from the 420/toy-tcase combo previous...

Hope to have the skid plate framed up and in place this weekend....might get to go try and break something the 24th...

Good luck!

flat skidplate, 27" long from the front shackles to 5" back of where the rear link arms are attached to the frame.... Attached directly to the bottom of the frame, tighest clearance is to the t-case at 3/8", clearance to the tranny pan is just over 1/2"....piece of 3/8" 6061 alum.

~22" I believe to the bottom of the skid, with 39.5 IROKS.
