Curious if anyone experienced or has heard of anyone having problems with AA or Downey bell housings during hard core trail use?
I have an extra long drive train 2F/H55/Toybox/splitcase that has only one crossmember under the Toybox at the very back. No problems with it at all.
Considering installing a Mitsubishi or Isuzu diesel with a Chevy V8 style conversion bell housing. I'm concerned about the strength of an aluminum bell housing if it would be enough for an 1100 lb diesel and extra long drivetrain. I have never seen any of these bell housings in person, so don't know how beefy they are. Figured I should get some input. Truck sees more trail use than street.
I know the obvious answer would be to add a second crossmember, but I don't want to loose the flat belly pan.
